Misys, which provides application software and services, has signed a software licensing deal with IBM (News
- Alert) to help banks optimize business process.
The software licensing agreement, which incorporates IBM business analytics, information management and application server software, including Business Process Server into its BankFusion platform, enables BankFusion customers to implement core banking projects faster than before.
The development will also enable BankFusion customers to install a proven, certified process management technology quickly and easily without the requirement of an additional integration and testing, company officials said in a press release.
They can tailor complex workflows without custom programming. The IBM’s library of automated business processes also save implementation time and resources.
"It is vital for banks to be able to change their processes rapidly and with no disruption to the ongoing operations of their business," said Robin Crewe, CTO of Misys, in a statement. "With Misys BankFusion solutions now being available to customers with IBM's software fully integrated as standard, banks will be able to improve processes in-flight and scale rapidly with no negative impact to customer experience.”
The decision by Misys to integrate IBM's Business Process Server will further strengthen Misys BankFusion, according to Henny te Beest, CFO and managing director, Amsterdam Trade Bank, who is using BankFusion in their business process. Meanwhile it will also enable them build banking processes faster while also enhancing their integration capability using industry-standard components.
By adopting IBM's Information FrameWork, Misys will ensure that the processes developed within its BankFusion solutions follow the framework's comprehensive business and data models. It will not only help accelerate the development of new banking processes but also provide clients with an out-of-the-box set of software that helps simplify their business models.
According to Arvind Krishna, general manager, IBM Information Management, the combination of Misys and IBM software can help clients better manage and analyze their data to meet their goals and set the stage for new products and services that provide a competitive advantage.
In another related development in the software licensing segment, Flexera Software, a provider of Application Usage Management solutions, announced it has acquired Microsoft (News
