Reduce Software Licensing Costs with Prizm Content Connect

November 02, 2012

Software licensing costs are the regular costs you pay to have the right to run software and receive support it if any issues occur. Software licenses protect a file, often a software application, from the extensive use of Internet users. Though vital to an organization, companies are always looking for ways to reduce their spending.

Accusoft, a provider of document, content and imaging solutions, recently released Prizm Content Connect v6 HTML5 zero-footprint content viewer. The Prizm platform allows users to create intuitive digital experiences to help your users view, collaborate, make decisions and automate workflow processes.

The viewer keeps users focused on the task at hand by eliminating the need to open third party applications and limits security risks from third party browser plug-ins and provides IT administrations the flexibility to choose the right browser for their environment needs. Prizm Content Connect provides high-end document viewing without the need to download any additional software or ActiveX controls on end-user machines.

Organizations can reduce software licensing costs by bypassing Microsoft (News - Alert) Office, Adobe and other format-specific software installations on an end user's machine with Prizm Content Connect. Users can view, convert, collaborate and share more than 300 document types right within the Web browser.

"With these HTML5 enhancements, Prizm Content Connect has been optimized to view documents in desktop and mobile Web browsers that support HTML5," said Brian Pageau, product group director at Accusoft, in a statement. "Additionally, users will be able to create and edit annotations, add a text note to a document or redact sensitive information from client records, using their fingertips on a smartphone or tablet device."

This release also includes improvements to the Prizm Content Connect Flash viewer, Proxy Server and SharePoint edition. These improvements contain product enhancements designed to give users a better response when paging through a file as it is loading. Additionally, enhancements have been made for the support of many popular formats, such as AutoCAD and PDF.
